Erratic Rantings of a Law Student

11?

Someone want to tell me why I even bothered picking up this game today at Gamestop? Well, I don't think folks will ever quite figure it out (I know I won't), but I've always been intrigued by FF11. I always wanted to play it but it was a PC only MMO, and I refused to get it for the PS2. However, since my Xbox 360 has really easy online access, I figure I can try it out now, especially since my main bud Christian is a veteran of the scene and will most likely come back and play it with me.

I'm in class right now, and while I see a bunch of Macs now, I still see so many horrid PCs that it makes me sick. We all need Macs.

Nothing new on the law school front; rather surprised I didn't even get a rejection letter from harvard or SC. But oh well.

Senioritis?

I never quite understood that term, since as far as I'm concerned, I've always been semi lazy in my school work (particularly reading, mainly due to the fact that I'm a slow reader, although I only need to read it once usually). However, in the past quarter, I've noticed that I really am ready to move on to bigger and different endeavors in my academic career. Hence, the whole law school thing comes into play to satisfy my curiosity as well as present me with a viable option for purusing my career goals afterwards.

Although I wonder if I will garner more unique experience from law school or from the simple fact that I'm completely moving away from my comfort zone into the strangeness that is the east coast, even more bizarre, DC. I can only hope that the change in scenery will be enough to jumpstart my motivation, as I'm sure I'll need evey mental resource available to me in order to survive the  strangeness that is law school.

Differences have always intrigued me, even if I didn't like them. I'm sure this will be no different.

The Money Thing

Now that I've decided to go to law school, heres's the next big challenge: $156,000. That's approximately how much total it'll cost for me to go to American for the next three years, including tuition, and an estimated amount for housing, books, equipment and so on. Currently, the good folks at the FInAid department have secured me about 20k a year throuhg various government loans and grants.

So that means I need to come up with about 100k on my own, which means loan hunting at some banks. I'm thinking of trying my luck at Wells Fargo since their graduate loan section seemed to be my best option and I do have a checking, savings, and credit account with them.

Things were so much easier undergraduate wise, Stanford did a good job of paying for most of it while my mom was able to cover the rest. That's definitely not going to be the case here.

Interesting stuff. I emailed to get myself put on the list under American University, now that I've actually decided to go there.

More to come soon. Like finding money and such (boooo).

Countdown

Four more days until I have to submit 700 deposit to American. 'twas rejected from Stanford and a few other of the schools I was waiting for; with the only real school on my list I haven't heard from is Santa Clara. However, it seems more and more likely that I'll just take the plunge into DC.

Currently broke right now because books cost a total of $600 this quarter, including a $260 course reader that my professor was mighty pissed to find out that it cost that much. I'm not whining too much, I just wish that the bookstore didn't gouge so much on the coursereader prices.

Trying to get back into the quarter by reading for my respective classes while balancing Softball, RCC, and Apple stuff. I wish I could sleep more, but that seems to be a luxury that is unavailable to me right now.

Been playing Kingdom Hearts II. I love it. Also WoW, but you already knew that ;)
