GTA (And the week of work)

Well, as my esteemed buddy (who never gets on IM any more *sniff*) has just commented, it would appear that a whole week has gone by without my posting here. *gasp* Sorry for that, for I have been incredibly busy with stuff that doesn't require play GTA:SA and playing it when other stuff is finally not on the near horizon.

I waited in line at Gamestop for about four hours Monday night to acquire precious GTA. I made a couple of cool friends there too, which kept the freezing cold away until I can get in. I was able to play it much, unfortunately, since I had a staff meeting that night and work to finish for class.

Tuesday was an early day, which typical class stuff followed by a shitload of writing and reading for my ficiton and comm classes. That, combined with the fact that I had a midterm the next day in "Press and the Political Process" made me want to get some sleep in hopes that I could remember enough for the exam.

I thought I did well on the midterm the next day, it wasn't too bad, I finished relatively quickly, and nearly every thing that I wrote on had a clear answer in my head. I came home that evening with a horrid headache, and proceeded to veg out by playing lots and lots of GTA. . . it was bliss.

Thursday I got back my first Poetry and Poetics paper and I learned that I can't write worth shit about poetry. Either that, or the TA is just a bitch (I'm betting its more the first one, tho). I try not to let it all get to me, anyways, since that night was Bar Night. I had a fucking grand old time there, with lots of alcohol and kickass music to dance to. It was a nice way to wind up the week for me.

Didn't have class Friday, save for a tutor meeting for my second P&P paper. Turns out she really liked my ideas and just needed me to flesh them out some more, so I have a relatively easy second draft to write on it. Then I played GTA for 7 hours straight.

Yesterday, I played GTA for another 7 hours straight, and then went to see a movie called "Stage Beauty" which was fucking brilliant, and I recommend it.

And today I'm writing this awful long post, I'm prolly gonna play some GTA before I have to engineer at the radio station. . . and then homework :(

Btw, I voted! Yay!

Study

Today was a memorable day in Eric's study life. I actually spend almost the entire day gettting caught up in several classes and getting some assignments done. Now, I'm nearly ready for a big midterm in one class, and I'm almost caught up in reading with some of the other classes that I'm taking. Yeah, I'm pretty vague right now, and I apologize. Quite frankly, I'm extremely tired right now and I'm probably going to get to bed since the ol' brain is starting to shut down right abou tnow.

Weekend was good, I got to spend some time with dear Shammy among others. We're having another Bar Night this weekend (already, I know) which should be quite interesting. I also have a midterm on Wednesday which will be the first big test for me this quarter.

Oh, and I reserved GTA:SA at Gamestop today. I paid in full so I can pick it up tomorrow evening when they get their first shipment. Good times.

Quickie Update

Yeah, been five days since the last update. Long story short, Bar Night kicked ass, I didn't get drunk (*sad*), and I've been really really sick since the weekend. Currently, I don't have much a voice and I have a few aches and pains in the joints right now (the knee and carpal, y'know).

Currently, I'm watching the Godfather while starting to work on a five page paper that I have that's due tomorrow. So I better stop with the distractions and get back to that. See ya!

Farewell

I'm not entirely sure what to say about this. My mom calls me up and tells me that one of our cats that we left behind when the divorce happened had died. He had a stroke, and was in extreme pain, and thankfully, my former stepdad put him to sleep, ending a long fruitful life at the age of 18. Its been a few years since I last saw him, but I loved him all the same. He was a big fluffy short haired orange American tabby cat. He loved to jump on people's laps and purr all the time. He really liked to be around people, and he just knew his place as someone that we all loved. Having never had to experience death to a close family member, this is the closest thing to someone really important to me dying. And, I don't see why it has to be any different. I cared about him greatly, and to me he was a member of the family, and it hurt a lot to have to say goodbye to him when that happened. So, I'm going to grieve for him as I see fit.

Orange, feline love
Purring forever, spot cat
Farewell, my old friend

Thanks for telling us.

Said it before, and I'll say it again

I love my fellow Staff members. They are the best folk to ever work for, and Phi Sig is the best house. Period.

Blah

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. School and stuff has been pretty busy as of late.

Friday night I played World of Warcraft with a good friend of mine for more time than I can actually remember. All I know is that we stopped at around 2 in the morning and I was pretty damn tired by that time. The next day we held a birthday party for him and then I traveled over to Synergy and enjoyed a pretty good room warming party. Met up with a friend there and we had some fun, drank some wine and then I walked her home and talked with her a bit there before I came back. Today was Flicks! Shrek 2 with her; I'd like to say we had a good time.

Class lately hasn't been too bad. I think I've managed to get myself into a regime that allows me to do lots of reading all week long so I won't get too behind on any thing. Currently I have to read some poems, write a descriptive page for fiction writing, and catch up on some reading for this week if I want to.

Also sent off a resumé to try and get an internship at Citigate Cunningham. They're a PR firm that specializes in companies that are related in some form or another to high technology, so I think I might enjoy working with them if they consider me worthy enough. We'll wait and see. I met up with a recruiter at the Career Fair that was held here last week, that's how I actually found out who they were.

Well, that's enough of an update for now. See ya!

Friday Nothings

No class on Friday, at least for this week. I can't be completely sure until I get the schedule for all the Sections that I'll be having to attend to for my classses, but as of right now, yay, no fucking class tomorrow.

I've been doing stuff, and class is okay, but lately I've just been way way way too tired to describe any of it. I don't know why I'm so fatigued, but its getting to me, and I'm thinking I'll have a nice sleep tonight at least.

I added a few poems to Erratic Poetry that I fished out of other places. If you're into that kind of thing: enjoy. If not, don't bother.

Also saw the Kerry/Bush debate tonight. I know every one is going to have their own opinion and believe that one or the other absolutely stole the show, but I'm going to really throw my hat in with Kerry on this one and say that he did a damn good job this debate. He challenged Bush on a lot of issues and really sounded strong and firm, and he didn't look flabbergasted at times and scoffed at his opponent. But that's all I'll say about politics, because its never a good thing to discuss with friends (unless you guys agree, of course).
