Countdown?

I haven't done a countdown in a while, guess I haven't had any thing exciting to look forward to lately. Well, actually, that's not necessarly true, its just that i havaen't really even bothered to get a count down going on the blog. I guess I'm just lucky enough to have had a lot of material to write about without including the endless anticipation and blather about something coming up in the near future.

Well, guess what, here's a countdown for y'all: Eight more days 'till I get to pick up Shammy from the airport and have him chill with me for a few days. We leave for The Farm on the 13th so I guess that gives us about 12 days for the going-back-to-college-and-ruling-Phi-Sig-because-we're-all-staff count down. Frosh year rocked, last year was even better. . . and I have a good feeling that even though this year will require some work, it is going to be the fucking sweetest one yet.

In other news, I packed up that fucking Bose sound system and took it straight back to the store. The guy didn't even look twice at it and refunded the whole thing for me; fucking sweet in my opinion. I'll admit that I was pretty pissy yesterday when the damn thing broke down for good, but I have to admit that if all Bose stores are as concerned for their customer as this one, then I must admit it will be worthwhile to shop with them once more when I can earn enough cash to buy a better system.

Enough news for now, blogging and CL at the same time is bad for your health.

Some Quality. . .

Today, out of the blue, my goddamn Bose system that I just bought less than a month ago crapped out and won't play CDs or DVDs any more (obviously a laser problem, IMO). Now I have to take that piece of shit all the way back to Camarillo and get the damn thing fixed or replaced (they better replace it, there's no fucking way I'm going to wait around for them to repair such a damn faulty product). This is such bullshit. I pay extra money for high quality merchandise so this kind of lame stuff doesn't happen. Guess there are defects in every thing.

In other news, my MTX preview was posted on IMG so you can check that out if you want. I also just finished another article for the Stanford Weekly which will be in there on Thursday.

I'm so damn tired and sick too, and with school only two weeks away, I guess I failed in that whole getting rest all summer deal.

Hot

It is fucking hot here, fellas. I'm not too sure why. It could be because of global warming or some shit like that, or maybe it could be because there was a FRIGGIN' FIRE about 5 miles of here in a river bed. Great, now there's gonna be a shitload of smoke and heat all night long; like I'm really going to get some sleep now.

Played a bit of AA, then thought about playing other games a lot. For some reason I can never convince myself to play other games because maybe I don't want to finish them or bother getting really into them because I know I will and then my ol' wrist will start acting up and pain will be had by all (or maybe just me).

Going to say that there Exorcist movie tomorrow with my grandma (she loves that stuff), but before that I gotta do a bunch of early errands.

And here is a link to my latest set of writing on Inside Mac Games, mainly a preview for MTX, a motor bike game coming out for the mac. Yes, I actually did get a build of some beta code for a game that won't be out for a while yet, and yes it was sort cool. Also, no it did not play well. Just go read the damn review :D

Aight, tired now. Catch ya later.

The Deal

Slowly rising in the ranks in AA while just kicking back and waiting for school to come take me away. I've also been trying to keep myself busy by doing any thing; going to lunch with ma at work, seeing aunts during work time (and thus halting all productivity, or at least co workers bothering them), and just driving around and having some fun. Then, when I'm tired of all that stuff, I come home and do some gaming. Our house will be built come October, and I rather wish I could just kick back here for a quarter to spend some time in it. But, Christmas break is around the corner and I'll have some time then, even though I WILL come home to help set up the technological aspects of the new house (read: internet).

I'll have a new Stanford Weekly article up tomorrow. It is definitely the worst article I've ever written (sorry Tam) because it was just really hard to come up with some good material in such a short notice. I only hope my editor fixed it up enough for it to be presentable.

Also gotta finish up a preview for IMG, I've been slacking on that because of my bad wrists and hands and such, but hopefully I can get it done really soon. I was aiming for tonight, but I don't think that's gonna work since I'm kind of tired and that dosesn't help much with writing.

I don't know why I get all excited over mundane things like this, but shit, I have to say it totally friggin' rocks.

And that's it for now. See ya.

Its still tomorrow here!

Okay so quick look at the course that I'll be having this quarter once I reach The Farm:

Monday - Thursday from 10am to 10:50am will be the English 'writing in major' course, Poetry and Poetics. The course is being taught by my English advisor, Ken Fields, and is one of the few required courses to graduate with an English major. Not sure exactly what the course is about, but I'm thinking we get delve into the mechanics of poetry and all that fun stuff.

Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11am - 12:15pm will be a communication course called 'Persepctives on American Journalism.' I think this is your typical intro to journalism type class which will discuss media in the US and all that. Considering that I want to have as much of a concetration in Journalism as I can, this course is a no brainer for me.

Wednesdays from 3:15pm - 6:05pm will be what I consider to be the interesting class of the quarter, 'Journalism Law,' another Comm course. Guess we'll learn about libel and freedom of the press and all that fun shit.

My final class I haven't registered for yet, since I have to particpate in a lottery or something to get into it, but its going to be a workshop in either poetry or short story, depending on what I want to do first.

It all equals 20 units, not sure if I want to take an intro to dance class yet to make it 21.

Ouch

Wrist is giving me much great pain again, but at least I can listen to classic video game music on kzsu.org for now to keep me going. I hate nights like this; when I'm tired as hell but just can't yet go to sleep, so I end up in a state of near sleep walking.

I'm gonna make this short tonight, since I really should get some sleep and rest this poor wrist. Tomorrow I unveil the classes for next quarter!

Countdown! (Yet again)

So, three weeks of the home life starting tomorrow. Not gonna make a big deal about it, but I just figured I'd throw it out there!

Shammy is coming!!! Yaaaay!!! Shammy! Shammy! w00t. Kickass shit right there.

And I'm *still* playing Americas Army because I don't know... addicted? Whateva, I also have my precious WoW should I really need something to play.

And I have to do a sneak preview for IMG for some game, but the preview I got didn't have an install serial #! Kind of odd there, eh?

And shoutout to Tam, if you read this (I don't know if ya do).

Blahish Tones

Hey folks, another update from the jolly old hometown of Ventura. Today was a lot of running around, eating fucking good food, and spending lots of time with good friends and checking out great games. Then it was playing with some people while listening to the good music and now its telling you of it all. Simple, eh?

The Blahish tones comes from the fact that as great as it all is here, I'd still rather go back to school. I feel bad for thinking that, because I will miss a lot of people here, but I miss my collegiate friends as well, and I'd like to chill with them again relatively soon. Thankfully, I will.

Oh, and a few links here. A pagefor my sound system that I was telling you about a few days ago that I bought at Bose. Interesting stuff :) This is what has been keeping me sane as far as computer gaming lately. *bows to WoW* And since I forgot to even mention it, this page is my latest Stanford Weekly article. Unfortunately, I didn't write one this week (sorry Tam!), but maybe I'll get something in next week.

And that my friends, is it for now. See ya!

(Oh, btw, I know its a pain, but if comment, please sign it with your name or code tag or whatever so I know who it is ;) )

Novice Audiophile

Hey guys, things have been business as usual these days; nothing too important are drastic to report. Took my ma to the infamous outlet malls in Camarillo today, where I picked up some clothes as well as a stereo system from Bose that is totally kickass. Its a two speaker + subwoofer system that comes with a receiver/DVD player. The two speakers simulate 5 speaker surround sound by using reflection which is totally cool. I'm gonna be taking it to school to add yet another entertainment factor to my room. . . yummy, indeed.

Watching Olympics right now, which is also yummy, especially with the new kickass sound system.

The Great Steak Sandwich

I apologize for not posting a return reply for the relatively short post that I made yesterday. Suffice to say, lucnh was excellent and left me in a rather pleasant and unproductive mood. I then proceeded to play World of Warcraft for the majority of the night into the morning, accomplishing a giant quest that had taken me days to gather the members needed to complete it.

Anyways, speaking of lunch yesterday, I went to the best lunch place in the world: some steak shop near the military base that my mom works at. They make the best damn cheese steak sandwich. Ever. They put a shitload of steak and a shitload of cheese along with a shitload of onion (they can put sauce on it too, but I don't really like it). They also hand make their french fries right there, and it all equals some fried goodness. We discovered the place a few weeks ago, and I go a once or twice a week since, its just that good.

So, what else is going on? Well, not much folks. I will continue to play WoW and look on the horizon for future games. There's a certain title called Fable that will soon hit the X-box next week that seems to be the sort of RPG that I've been looking for. But, as far as I'm concerned, its going to be WoW for a while as my main game.

Looking forward to The Farm; one month exactly until I go back, and I may have some pleasant company too, if all things go well. But, we'll see about that.

Enjoy the olympics (or Family Guy, on FOX, if you're like me).

Good times and clear waters

I've happily noticed that my blogging attitude has improved considerably; I think that I've discovered the motivation once more to write more and more of present situations and of the future that shall come soon. I'm really happy to have come to this decision, since I know that Erratic Rantings has suffered somewhat of a lack of updates (for me, at least).

For now, however, I must cut this post short, because I'm going out to lunch with my ma right now. We'll talk more soon, when I get back :)

Yum. . . Beta Goodness

I can't help it folks, but yeah, I've been playing that World of Warcraft game again. Hell, it's definitely up there as one of the coolest games I've ever played, and I've all but secured the requisitioning of funds in order to buy that new NVIDIA Card that's being released for the G5 in about a month's time. With that baby inside my computer, there will be no game in the world that can stop ultimate graphical PROWESS!!! Muahahaha

Okay, enough nerdy talk for now. The countdown for school is still on, and I can tell I'm not the only one in my group of friends that is eager to return to that Farm in the north. It's going to be mighty fun when we finally get back together, unstoppable even. Muahahah once more, I say!

Went out and bought my copy of Kill Bill V.2 yesterday, still such a good movie. I'm not sure which part I like the best, but hell both of them are really damn good. I hope they release a DVD set that just has the first DVD streamline into the second, that'd be a good thing to watch. Or maybe they can make a DVD in which all the events are displayed in chronological order, sort of like The Godfather.

Enough rambling for now, gentle readers. Ta ta!

Addiction? Bah

It's good to know that, for the most part, if I were to ever really play an addicting MMORPG for a while, I wouldn't develop an addiction to it. Yes, World of Warcraft is definitely the prettiest, biggest, coolest game that I've ever played, and I'm constantly amazed at how I continually *want* to explore and do all the quests and gain levels and such. It's just a great game, and I highly suggest it when the open beta comes around.

However I constantly find myself reminding me that I should stop playing after certain intervals and continue to do other things. That's basically how my days have been; WoW for a while, then stopping to do other things. I think 'tis a good thing, and I'm glad I haven't (and won't) let it take over my life like a bunch of poor souls have with Evercrack and all those other games out there.

I'll be honest folks, I'm gearing up for a return to school. Quite frankly, I'm not really fond of this place here too much for now. I'd rather be hanging out with my friends and future staff mates for Phi Sig. I'd like to hang out with all the residents I'll be with. I want to be taking nothing but Communication and English classes (and maybe a dance class or something fun), and I'm ready for the university house life once more. I miss the parties and little midnight conversations about any thing and every thing. I miss the people there that look at me and just see me. . . and don't mind it.

Right now currently reading a good book, and listening to music really loud. It's a good method to encourage zoning out; maybe I'll come out with a good thought I can jot down. Tomorrow I have to get up early to do some stuff, so I suppose I can't do it all night long.

Soon.

Its Miiiinnnee

My owwwwwn..... myy preeeeeciiioouuus!!!!! Muahahahahahaha

Yes folks, World of Warcraft is mine! A dear friend of mind has graciously lent me his account and I just finished downloading the two gig installer and it looks like every thing will be installed with no errors in it. If that's the case, then I bid you all a good life, because I will be playing this game until the end of my days!!!!

Hehe, just kidding. But I will be playing it!

Wow

Hey lookee here. . . it's not even 10pm yet and I'm tired as hell. I guess all the pain I've been experiencing lately has made me rather tired, that and other things have kept my mind working. Perhaps I may even sleep early tonight (OMG OMG OMG!)

Oh, and I want Doom 3 to come out for the mac more than you will ever know. If only it would come out soon, dammit!
